RUTH I. WASSINK Mrs. Ruth Wassink of Osius Street in Adell passed away at Rocky Knoll Heath Care Center early Thursday morning December 23 2004. She was 77 years old. Ruth was born on August 15 1927 in Newport Oregon daughter of William and Bertha Crommiller Penn. On December 25 1946 she was united in marriage with John Wassink in Gibbsville. He preceded her in death on September 26 2002. Ruth ran Poppa's Grocery Store in Washington Co. for many years retiring in 1978. Ruth was a member of the Hingham Reformed Church and had participated in the Ladies Mission Society there. She was a 4-H Leader for many years teaching many kids to bake and sew. In her later years she was a member of the Adell Senior Center. Ruth is survived by her 4 daughters: Linda (special friend Michael Scholler) Orth of Adell Jean (Dennis) Klein of Belgium Carol (Joseph) Takacs of West Bend and Patricia Faber of West Bend. She is further survived by 6 grandchildren: Anjanette David Michelle Jason Megan and Alesia 4 great-grandchildren: Brianna John Samuel and Evan 1 brother William Penn of California 2 sisters: Lois (The late Jim) McCulley of Beaverton OR and Eleanor (Morrie) Barstad of Vernonia OR nieces nephews other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday December 28th 1:30 PM at Hingham Reformed Church W4390 Church Road Hingham. Pastor Steve Bakker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hingham Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church Tuesday from 11AM until the time of services at 1:30 PM. Memorials are suggested to the MS Society or the Hingham Reformed Church.
