Mrs. Ruth Styron of Port Washington passed away on December 17, 2016, at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon. She was 92 years old. Ruth was born in Chicago, IL, on August 27, 1924, to William and Ann Slamka Eggers. On May 25, 1946, she married Courtland Styron in Elkton, MD. The couple moved to Milwaukee while he attended dental school at Marquette University, and they moved to Port Washington in 1952 when Dr. Styron opened his dental practice. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Ruth was a member at St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Washington. She enjoyed decorating, sewing, furniture refinishing and antiquing with friends.
She is survived by her daughter Joyce Madsen of Mequon, granddaughter Nicole (Doug) Watkins of Birmingham, AL, and sisters Sharon (Richard) Rossebo of Waupaca and Donna (Eckhard) Rahn of Colgate. She is further survived by her brother Kenneth (the late Laura) Eggers of Duluth, MN. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, son Jeffrey Styron, daughter Valerie Styron and son-in-law Larry Madsen.
Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Monday, December 26, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 217 N. Freeman Dr., Port Washington, and she will be laid to rest beside her family in Union Cemetery, Port Washington. Rev. John Klieve will preside.
