Obituary

Ruth Schinner of Port Washington and Sun Lakes AZ formerly of Cedar Grove passed away unexpectedly in the evening hours of Sunday September 6 2015 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. She was 85 years old. Ruth was born in Milwaukee on October 31 1929 daughter of Earl Detienne and Ruth Petley Detienne. On June 20 1954 she married John Schinner in Milwaukee. The couple lived in Bayside raising their family until they moved to Mequon in 1968. After their 8 children were grown Ruth and John moved to Grafton. Their most favorite place was the family cottage on the shores of Lake Michigan in Cedar Grove. They eventually bought a town house in Sun Lakes AZ sold the house in Grafton and split their time between Arizona and the cottage in Cedar Grove. Ruth was a member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Sun Lakes AZ. She enjoyed knitting playing Bridge and exploring her family genealogy. She is survived by her six children: Jill (Kevin) Kirst of Port Washington Daniel (Maureen) Schinner of Wauwatosa Katherine (Michael) Krueger of Milwaukee William Schinner of Mequon Thomas (Jane) Schinner of Oostburg and James (Christine) Schinner of Milwaukee two step-children Susan (Richard) Kutalek of Brookfield and Mary Pat Schinner of Milwaukee. She is further survived by 14 grandchildren: Scott and Shawn (Nicole) Kirst Christopher Andrew and Laura Schinner Rebecca (Nick) Becker Michelle (Chad) Swalheim Courtney (Ben) Heath Amy and Matthew Schinner Alyssa Nicholas Ashley and Kyle Schinner three step-grandchildren Cindy (David) Brown Scott (Tina) Kutalek and Joshua Peterman 8 great-grandchildren: Clara Lucas Genevieve Corinne and Lydia Jenna Sarah and Olivia her sister Marge (the late Carl) Lamp of Sun Lake AZ sister-in-law Nenia (the late James) Detienne nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband John and her brother James Detienne and brother-in-law Carl Lamp. Memorial services for Ruth will be held at a later date. Memorials suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Ozaukee Humane Society. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is honored to serve the family.
