IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ruth E.
Risse
August 5, 1927 – July 19, 2023
Mrs. Ruth Risse of Random Lake passed away at Gables on the Pond early Wednesday morning, July 19, 2023. She was 95 years old.
Ruth was born August 5, 1927, in Saukville, one of eight children born to Albert and Emelia Rolof Wollmann. The family farmed in the Town of Fillmore and Ruth attended local schools.
On July 5, 1947, Ruth was united in marriage with Alfred L. Risse at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Silver Creek. The couple settled in Silver Creek and were blessed with two children. Alfred preceded her in death in 1999.
Ruth worked as an assembler at Power Products, but enjoyed picking up odd jobs when she had something special she wanted to spend money on, like a new table for the kitchen. She was thrifty and frugal, and enjoyed the challenge of raising her family and feeding them well on a budget.
Ruth learned to drive in her early thirties so she could drive her children to Random Lake to swim, and to also do her grocery shopping. She enjoyed taking pictures of her family as they grew up with her trusty Brownie camera, and kept them all in albums. Photos of Sandy with her bike and Dale with his pedal tractor are some particular favorites.
Those left to cherish her memories include her children Sandra (Frank) Mueller of Adell and Dale Risse of Port Washington, grandchildren Colleen (Jerry) Beisbier, Amy (Brian) Hafemann and Daniel (Laurie) Mueller, and great-grandchildren Veronica and Miles Biesbier. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Alfred, siblings Hildegarde Panarusky, Edna Schwartz, Erich Wollmann, Alma Donath, Esther Mueller, Ewald Wollmann, and Ida Klas, half-siblings Ella Schmidt, Edwin and Valentino Hartz.
A Memorial Service will be held for Ruth at 4PM on Monday, August 7th at St. John's United Church of Christ, 98 Random Lake Road, Random Lake. Pastor Bridget Hill will preside. The family will receive guests that day at the church from 2PM until the service begins at 4PM. Ruth will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Paul Cemetery in Silver Creek at a later date.
Memorials, if desired, are suggested to the Silver Creek Fire Department.
The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements; online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com .
