Ruth M. Gasper was born to Eternal life on Friday, April 1, 2022. She was 92 years old. Ruth was born on December 23, 1929, in Port Washington to Nicholas and Frances (Jungers) Lanser. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Gasper (1929-2001) on August 26, 1950, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. Together she and Kenneth raised 7 children in Milwaukee.
Ruth was a devoted daughter, wife, sister, mom, and grandparent. She grew up on her parent's farm and learned to bake and cook from her mother. She was known to host all family gatherings, and no one went home hungry. Ruth was a long-time member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Milwaukee and St. Peter Alcantara in Port Washington. She made beautiful rosaries and ornaments to donate to her brother's parish in Nicaragua. Throughout her life, Ruth and her husband volunteered in their church and community. She spent countless hours loving and nurturing her family.
Ruth is survived by children Gary (Connie), Arnie (Julie), Dave (Sue), Debbie (Al) Reck, Greg (Becky Yacono), Nancy Parbs, and Steve (Tammy); 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother Father Wilbert Lanser and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Gasper, her parents, her mother and father-in-law, 2 infant children, grandson Corey Gasper, son-in-law Andy Parbs, siblings Robert Lanser, John (Mildred) Lanser, Dorothy (Elmer) Fink and brothers and sisters-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5pm on Friday, April 8, 2022, at St. John XXIII-St. Peter of Alcantara Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington WI, 53074. Fr. Patrick Wendt will preside. The visitation will be at church from 3:00PM until the time of service. Prior to the visitation there will be a rosary service at church at 2:40PM. Ruth will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Mary's Cemetery.
