RUTH E. LAWSON Mrs. Ruth Lawson of Sunset Road in Port Washington passed away at Lawlis Family Hospice Center in Mequon early Thursday morning December 25 2014. She was 90 years old. Ruth was born in Mclean VA on December 15 1924. She was united in marriage with Bill Schaefer in Washington DC in 1946. They settled in Falls Church VA and raised their family of three children. Ruth later married Troy Lawson in New Jersey. They moved to San Diego CA in 1962. Troy preceded her in death in 1980. Mrs. Lawson moved to Port Washington in 2009 to be closer to her daughter. Ruth enjoyed playing Yatzee! dominoes and bingo with her many good friends while she lived in San Diego and continued to play Yatzee! daily with her daughter Fran until recently. Ruth is survived by her three children: Fred (Jan) Schaefer of Seaville NJ Fran Talledge of Port Washington and Beatrice (John) Wellington of Culpepper VA. She is further survived by three grandchildren: John M. Schaefer of New Jersey Monica (Dave) Strand of Cedar Grove and Robert Talledge of Port Washington. She is further survived by 5 great-grandchildren nieces nephews other relatives and friends. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Troy former husband Bill Schaefer good friend Tom Lydle brother Buddy sister Louise and son-in-law Robert Talledge. A Gathering of Remembrance will be held from 4-6PM on Tuesday December 30th at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington. Ruth will be laid to rest beside her husband Troy in El Camino Memorial Park San Diego CA at a later date.
