Ruth Ann Seawall, formerly of Cedarburg, WI, passed peacefully in hospice care, Saturday, September 19, 2020.
She was born Ruth Ann Hunt in Danville, Indiana, on October 12, 1935, to the late Lee Olney Hunt and Mary (Stanley) Hunt. In high school, Ruth Ann reigned as state champion as a trumpet soloist and also as May Queen during May Day celebrations. After high school and a brief introduction to a career in nursing, she began her studies in elementary education at Butler University. Ruth Ann was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and it was there that she met the love of her life, Don Norman Seawall of Chicago, Illinois. They married in 1958 in Indiana, beginning a loving 57-year marriage. Ruth Ann and Don were blessed in raising three children, moving from Indiana to the northern suburbs of Chicago, and eventually to Wisconsin, first to Cedarburg and ultimately to Delavan, where they retired with a view of the lake.
Ruth Ann adored her life as a devoted wife and mother and caring homemaker. Holidays were her most favorite time, Christmas in particular, as she relished showering her family with gifts, food, fun and family traditions. Ruth Ann cherished every photographic memory taken along the way, preserving them in countless photo albums and frames with tender care.
Ruth Ann is survived by her beloved children: Mary Ann Dullum of Lake Barrington, IL, Don Jr (Christy) of Sugar Grove, IL, and William (Krista) of Cedarburg, WI. She is further survived by 6 grandchildren: Katie (Michael) Glaser, Christopher Reidy, Veronica Seawall, Don Seawall III, Sean Seawall and Ryan Seawall, and by her great-grandson Charlie Glaser.
Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her husband Don, son-in-law Russell Dullum, brother Stanley Hunt, and daughter Susan Lynn.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Lawlis Family Hospice and the staff at Village Pointe Commons and Tender Reflections for their kindness and compassionate care.
A private family service will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ruth Ann's name to the Alzheimer's Association are appreciated by the family.
