Russell Dzwinel, of Mequon, passed away in the evening hours of Friday, February 28, 2025, at Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Mequon. He was 78 years old.
Russell was born in Milwaukee on August 23, 1946, the son of John and Marion (nee Mueller) Dzwinel. He grew up in Milwaukee and attended high school at Wisconsin Lutheran High School. After high school, Russell honorably served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy on the USS Yorktown from 1966 until his discharge in 1969.
On August 5, 1972, he married the love of his life, Georgia Williams, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Milwaukee. The couple began their life in Milwaukee and moved with their family to Mequon in 1989. Russell had a long career in manufacturing, working for many area companies, retiring in 2018. He enjoyed taking road trips and exploring the state of Wisconsin, hunting, fishing, and helping on his friend's farm.
He is survived by his three children: Jason (Julie) Dzwinel, Kristin (Bob) Nell, and Lara (Chris) Roehrig. He is further survived by six grandchildren: Johnathan, Lillian, Bennett, Nora, Emerson, and Alyssa, three great-grandchildren: Harper, Ava, and Olivia, his brother Gary (Amy) Dzwinel, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Georgia.
In accordance with Russell's wishes, private family services will be held at a later date.
