Obituary

Ruben Baumann of Saukville passed away unexpectedly on Friday December 6 2013 at his residence. He was 84 years old. Ruben was born in Port Washington on October 4 1929 son of Ruben and Elsa Williams Baumann. On November 23 1950 he married Doris Gallwitz at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. The couple lived in Grafton until moving to Saukville in 1962. Ruben served his country in the US Army from 1951 to 1953. After he returned from the service he worked as a machinist for Mercury Marine and retired as a foreman from Schwengel Manufacturing in Grafton. Ruben enjoyed family gatherings working in his garden woodworking polka music and playing cards with two neighborhood groups. He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Saukville as a council member usher and Eucharistic Minister. He was also an active member of American Legion Landt-Thiel Post 470 in Saukville. As a legion member he served as booking agent for the legion hall and was named Legionnaire of the Year in 2008. After retiring Ruben and Doris enjoyed traveling to Europe Hawaii Door County Florida cruises bus trips and weekend trips with their card clubs. Ruben is survived by eight children: Dennis (Jayne) Baumann of Granite Falls MN James (Christine) Baumann of Bellbrook OH Steven (Mary Kay) Baumann of Saukville Lisa (Don) Clark of Saukville Scott (Mary) Baumann of Port Washington Peter (Nichole) Baumann of Saukville Jeffrey (Sherry) Baumann of Belgium and Allen Baumann of West Bend. He is further survived by 18 grandchildren; Rita (Jayson) Williamson and Craig Baumann Monica (Joe Navari) and Michael Baumann Eric and Alyson Baumann Aaron Bradley and Josh Clark Matt and Carly Baumann Brandon Kyra and Serena Baumann Nichole and Tim Baumann and Abby and Luke Baumann 2 great-grandchildren Chase and Shelby Williamson one sister Gladys (the late Victor) Roden of Saukville and his brother-in-law Paul Gallwitz of Port Washington. He is preceded in death by his parents his wife Doris his daughter Paula Baumann four brothers and one sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday December 19th at 6:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 145 W. Church St. in Saukville. Father Pat Wendt will preside. Ruben will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery in Port Washington. A time of gathering will be held at the CHURCH on Thursday December 19th from 3-6 PM.
