Obituary

Roy D. Wilhelm, age 62, of Saukville, passed away at home unexpectedly on Thursday, November 19th, 2020. Roy was born in Port Washington on April 23, 1958, the son of Roy and Lillian (Lubner) Wilhelm. He grew up in Jackson, and was a graduate of West Bend West High School. He attended UW-Madison where he obtained a bachelor's degree in soil science, and a master's in agronomy. He lived on the east coast for a while before returning to Wisconsin, and obtaining a second bachelor's degree at UW-Madison in engineering. He was employed as an environmental engineer for three years, prior to accepting a position with the Village of Saukville as the Director of Public Works and Village Engineer. He was employed by the Village of Saukville from 1997 to 2014. On July 10, 1993, he was united in marriage to Julie Krattiger at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Madison. They had one daughter, Elizabeth and a son, Max. Roy loved sharing his passion for the outdoors with them both. Roy was an avid reader, gardener, and had a great sense of humor. He was a wonderful craftsman, and enjoyed making furniture for his family and friends. Roy is survived by his wife, Julie, daughter, Elizabeth, and son Max; his sisters, Marylou (Gordon) Guslick of Grafton, Holly (Tom) Spaeth of Cedarburg; his brothers, Morris Wilhelm of Jackson, and Richard (Kim) Wilhelm of West Bend; in-laws; nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy, and his mother, Lillian. A private memorial service will be held for Roy at a future date.
