Obituary

Roy Walter Keller of Belgium, reunited with his family on Sunday, April 2, 2017. He was 90 years old. Roy was born on October 8, 1926 to Walter and Margaret (nee Tvehscherer) in Devil's Lake, North Dakota. Roy and his wife Elizabeth (nee Wolf) Keller were united in marriage on October 10, 1949 in Knox, North Dakota at St. Mary Catholic Church. Roy was a proud Navy Veteran who served in WWII. Roy and Betty moved to Wisconsin in 1950 where they raised their family. He participated in the VFW post 5373 and enjoyed marching in the local parades. Roy first worked as a welder at Gilson Bros. in Fredonia and later at Simplicity in Port Washington until he retired in 1991. He kept busy working as the Belgium Village Marshall and helping others with grass cutting, snow removal and various other jobs after retirement. He enjoyed having his grandchildren help in any way they could. Roy had a huge heart and often spent time visiting friends when they weren't doing well. Roy is survived by his loving wife Betty, children: Larry (Nan) Keller, David (Margo) Keller, Diane (Leon) Anzia, Lavonne (Ray) Kling, Corinne (Andy) Kozeniecki, 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, brothers: Mike (Lorraine) Keller, John (Nancy) Keller, brothers-in-law Daniel (Nancy) Wolf, Francis (Verena) Wolf, sisters-in-law: Irene Meyer and Lorraine (Gene) Klein. Roy is further survived by many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Roy is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Divine Savior Parish Holy Cross Chapel 5332 Highway B Belgium, WI 53004 at 1:00 PM. Father Todd Budde will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM. Roy will be laid to rest with full military honors at St. Mary Parish Cemetery Lake Church following the service. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the VFW post 5373. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sharon Richardson Home Hospice and Aurora at Home for the care and compassion they provided. The family also wishes to thank Father Jim Ernster for his friendship and spiritual guidance.
