Ms. Rose Wendt of Cedarburg, formerly of Allenton and Milwaukee, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 25, 2019 at McKinley Place in Cedarburg, where she had been a resident for the past four years. She was 80 years old. Rose was born in Milwaukee on February 22, 1939, daughter of Anthony and Dorothy Scheuing Planinshek. She attended local schools and graduated from West Division High School, Class of 1957. "Toots" worked as a secretary for Wisconsin Bell, later AT&T, and retired in 2000 after 30 years on the job. She later worked for Tax Management Unlimited. She moved to Allenton in 2003, and later to Cedarburg in 2014. Rose was a member of St. Francis Borgia Parish in Cedarburg. She was a very social lady and enjoyed going out to eat, especially for breakfast; she also liked watching "Dancing With the Stars" and "General Hospital" on television, reading, and an occasional trip to play the slot machines. Survivors include her daughter Toni Kubasiak of the Town of Cedarburg, grandchildren Trent (Kathleen) Kubasiak of North Carolina, Jordan (Mattie Faber) Kubasiak of the Town of Cedarburg, and Victoria (Dave) Hoffmann, also of Cedarburg, and eight great-grandchildren: Trent Jr., Nell, Penelope, Alexander, Alaina, Elijah, Ava and Oliver. She is further survived by her sister Diana (Matt) Wildt of Theresa, brother John (Gail) Planinshek of Slinger, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11AM on Thursday, May 30th at St. Francis Borgia -North Church (1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg) with Fr. Al Veik presiding. Ms. Wendt will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home (1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg) on Wednesday from 4-7PM to share their celebration of the many wonderful things that made Rose's life so special.
