Obituary

Ms. Rosalie Schlenvogt, of Port Washington, formerly of Florida, passed away surrounded by her loving family in the evening hours of Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Lawlis Family Hospice Center in Mequon. She was 84 years old.

Rose was born in Sheboygan on December 16, 1937, daughter of Henry and Leona (nee Groth) Schlenvogt. She grew up in Port Washington and attended Port Washington High School. On July 14, 1959, she married Ray Gasser of Port Washington.

Rose worked at various local businesses, until she found her calling of being a caregiver. Rose worked at St. Alphonsus Hospital as a supervisor. After moving to Florida, she worked for Carnival Cruise Line as shore-side security. After she moved back to Wisconsin she worked at Home Instead Senior Care as a home health aide, until she became ill in 2021.

Rose loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed family get-togethers, cookouts, holidays, and cooking and baking. She also loved long car rides, especially in the fall.

Rose is survived by her three children: Michelle (the late Jim) Wagner of Belgium, Randy (Cheryl) Gasser of Oostburg, and Tammy Gasser of Port Washington. She is further survived by five grandchildren: Missy (Tim Marchant) Watry, Brittany Szymanski, Jarret, Hailee and Cerity Gasser, three great-grandchildren: Julie Wangert, Aiden and Bexley Szymanski, two great-great-grandchildren Hazzel and Leon, her sister Pat (the late Nic) Schmit, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Sherman (the late June), Mark (the late Carol), and David Schlenvogt, her sister Jayne VanDyke, her son-in-law Jim Wagner, and her fiancé Richard Baker.

Visitation for Rose will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, from 4-6 PM. Funeral services will follow at the Funeral Home at 6 PM.

She will be laid to rest in Union Cemetery, Port Washington.
