Rosalie E. Prior-Gavin Mrs. Rose Prior-Gavin of Liberty House in Fond du Lac formerly of Port Washington and Superior passed away at her residence early Wednesday morning April 7 2010. She was 87 years old. Rosalie was born December 16 1922 in Marathon County the daughter of Carl and Eleanor Bolter Wittkop. Rose worked as a housekeeper at a nursing home. She was united in marriage with Richard Prior on January 12 1957 in Pine City MN. He preceded her in death in 1973. She was united in marriage with Ogden Gavin on September 6 1985. He preceded her in death in 1993. Mrs. Prior-Gavin was a member of St. Johnrsquo;s Lutheran Church where she was formerly a member of the Womenrsquo;s Guild. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her poodle Fifi. Rose is survived by her two brothers: James Wittkop of Watunka AL and Raymond Wittkop of Eden one sister Arla DeBroux of Port Washington nieces nephews great-nieces and nephews great-great-nieces and nephews other relatives friends and caregivers from Liberty House and St. Agnes Hospice. Funeral Services will be held at 4PM on Friday April 9 2010 at St. Johnrsquo;s Lutheran Church 217 N. Freeman Dr. in Port Washington. Pastor John Klieve will officiate. Rose will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 3-4PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Johnrsquo;s Lutheran Church.
