Mr. Ronald Osborne, of Woodview Circle in Port Washington, formerly of Cedar Grove, New Berlin and Cincinnati, OH, passed away at his residence Friday evening, October 21, 2016, while surrounded by his loving family. He was 81 years old. Ronald was born in Cincinnati on September 24, 1935, son of Fred and Alieen Marsh Osborne. Following his schooling, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was united in marriage with Elizabeth Johnson at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois on May 7, 1955. Mr. Osborne worked for the US Postal Service following his time in the Air Force. The couple settled in Ohio before moving to New Berlin and Hudson, and later to Cedar Grove in 1994. They moved to Port Washington in 2008.
Mr. Osborne was a member of the American Legion Post 338 Cedar Grove. He enjoyed bowling, golfing with his sons, reading, and making model airplanes. He loved spending time out in his workshop and woodworking, learning about history and watching historic newsreels. He had a fascination with Deadwood, SD, and enjoyed visiting when he had the chance.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth, of Port Washington, and their children: Ron (Sandy) Osborne of Sharonville, OH, Sharon (Robert) Walker of Harrison, OH, Susan (Jim) Schlegel of Saukville, Tim (Kris) Osborne of New Berlin, and son-in-law Les (the late Sheryl) LaPhilliph of Twin Lakes, WI. He is further survived by ten grandchildren: Judy (Korie) Ryan, Angela (Scott) Corti, Joseph LaPhilliph, Ryan (Sarah) Armstrong, Christopher Osborne, Jeni (Chris) Kitchell, Stephanie LaPhilliph, Jerome (Caitlin) Armstrong, Melissa Armstrong and Nathan Armstrong, six great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Emmaline, Kamdyn, Caleb, Claire and Chloe. Also surviving are sisters Betty (Charles) Trotta and Freda Justice, both of Cincinnati, OH, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter Sheryl, and brothers Fred (the late Mary) and Jack Osborne.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7PM on Friday, October 28th at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., in Port Washington. Father Jim Ernster will preside. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7PM.
