Ronald R. Moths passed away on June 27, 2021, at the age of 74, at Lawlis Hospice in Mequon under the care of Horizon Home Care and Hospice, after a courageous battle with prostate cancer.
Ron was born on November 15, 1946, to the late Roland Moths and Theresa (Krick) Moths. He was raised in Fredonia, attending St. Rose of Lima Catholic School and later Port Washington High School.
In 1966 Ron was drafted into the US Army serving his tour of duty in Germany.
On November 18, 1972, he married Barb (nee Jacoby) at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Random Lake in which they enjoyed 48 wonderful years together.
Ron started driving truck at an early age for his father's business and worked nights at Bolens Manufacturing in Port Washington. In 1972, he accepted a truck driving job with Geo. Hennings and Son in Thiensville. Ron worked there until 1993 when he then took a position with the Ozaukee County Highway Department. He retired from the County in 2008.
Upon retirement Ron worked for The Bog and then Hawthorne Hills golf courses which he felt were his dream jobs. Golfing and cars were two of his favorite interests.
Ron is survived by his wife Barb, his brother Richard "Dick" (the late Janice) Moths, and Dick's special friend Joy Dempsey. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Harold (Sheryl) Jacoby of Racine, Ann (Peter) Waldkirch of Newburg, Roger (Malinda) Jacoby of Kewaskum and Margie (Gary) Gauger of Newburg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents Roland and Theresa Moths and his in-laws, Peter and Alice Jacoby, and his sister-in-law Janice Moths.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington at 4:00pm. Pastoral Associate Deb Hamm will be presiding. The family will receive visitors from 2:00pm until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Divine Savior Catholic School in Fredonia, Fredonia Fire and Rescue or a charity of the donor's choice.
