Obituary

Roman Schraith of Glendale passed away Friday evening October 10 2014 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was 87 years old. Roman was born June 15 1927 in Milwaukee the son of Roman Schraith and Mary Wukovits. After high school he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during WWII. On May 2 1970 he was united in marriage with Mary Ann Schroeder at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death in 2008. For 36 years Roman worked as a supervisor at the Post Office in downtown Milwaukee retiring in 1985. After his retirement he went on to work as the elevator operator at M I Bank in downtown Milwaukee for 15 years. Roman was a member of St. Eugene's Parish in Fox Point. He had formerly belonged to the American Legion and the National Association of Postal Supervisors. He had enjoyed bowling playing sheepshead small engine repairs and bookbinding including repairing the hymnals at St. Eugene's. Roman is survived by his 2 sons: Neil of St. Louis MO and Mark (Andrea) of Grafton. He is further survived by his granddaughter Clara brother Otto (Jordyce) Schraith of Milwaukee sister-in-law Betty Schraith of Brookfield brother-in-law Donald (Dolores) Schroeder of Cascade cousins Mary Ann Erdtmann Betty Schraith Ed Schraith and the late Frank Schraith other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann and his brother Harry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday October 16 2014 at 5:30 PM at St. Eugene Parish 7600 N. Port Washington Road in Fox Point with Father Jacob Strand presiding. He will be laid to rest beside Mary Ann at St. Mary Parish Cemetery in Lake Church. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday from 3:30-5:30. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
