Roger Lee Wendtlandt of Grafton passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the age of 78. He was born to Theodore and Bernadine (nee Arentz) Wendtlandt on August 20, 1940 in Grafton, WI. He married Judith Jacque on November 23, 1963 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington and together they had five children.
Out of high school, Roger joined the Air Force, served his tour and returned home where he met his wife. He then began working for a can company where he developed a hatred for artificial grape everything and continued in that industry until retirement. Roger loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and grabbing coffee with friends. He enjoyed watching local sports, especially baseball, football and NASCAR. He had a trademark moustache, a hat for every occasion and was always quick with a smile.
Roger is survived by his wife Judy, his children, Lea Wendtlandt, Mark Wendtlandt, Nicole (Micheal) Duncan, Karl Wendtlandt; grandchildren, Erin (Steven) Murphy, Emma Ponath, and Jordan Luken. He is further survived by countless nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Debra Jane; sisters, Janis Blank and Doris Wagner; brothers, James Wendtlandt and Henry "Butch" Wendtlandt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00PM on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church (1619 Washington St., Grafton, WI 53024) with Father John Yockey presiding. Visitation will be at the CHURCH from 4:00PM- 5:45PM. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Saukville.
