Roger William Janke of Fredonia passed away at the age of 69 on Saturday, August 4, 2018. He was born on June 7, 1949 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Edward and June (nee Anzia) Janke. Roger was united in marriage to Christine (nee Schmit) on October 22, 1977 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Roger was an avid Packers, Marquette basketball and Brewer fan. His love of sports extended to coaching his children's sports. He was also very passionate about his occupation of civil engineering and enjoyed discussing it with his son and son-in-law who are also in the industry. He had a great love for his canine companion Cody, who he taught how to Packer dance. Roger and Christine enjoyed road trips to Green Bay to visit their daughter Brittney and her husband Pat. Above all, time spent with family and grandchildren was cherished.
Roger is survived by his wife Christine Janke, his children; Ryan (Rose) Janke, Brittney (Pat) Bray, grandchildren; Finn, Cole and soon to arrive granddaughter, brother Richard (Karen) Janke, brothers-in-law; Joseph Schmit, John Schmit, Stephen (Kris) Schmit. He is further survived by other nieces, nephews and relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law Paul and Carolyn Schmit.
A Liturgy of the Word will be held at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Divine Savior Parish – Holy Cross Chapel with Deacon Gerry Malueg presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 4:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM. Roger will be laid to rest at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery the following day at 10:00 AM.
