IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert David
Yenter
June 17, 1934 – September 30, 2022
Robert David Yenter, age 88 went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 30, 2022. Robert was born in the Town of Franzen, Wisconsin on June 17, 1934, to Andrew and Pearl (nee Koziczkowski) Yenter. He was united in marriage to Marian (nee Furmanek) Yenter on July 9, 1960, at Holy Name of Jesus Parish Catholic Church in Wausau, Wisconsin.
Robert loved deer hunting, playing, and watching sports. He had a love for music especially singing and playing the guitar at family gatherings. Above all, spending time with his siblings and their families, his children and grandchildren meant the most to him. He proudly served our country enlisting in the U.S. Navy in March of 1956. Basic training was at Great Lakes Naval Base in Illinois and then he was stationed in Florida before he was sent overseas on the U.S.S FDR. Robert was then reassigned to the U.S.S Saratoga. The aircraft carrier patrolled the waters of the Atlantic including Iceland, Ireland, Scotland, England, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Greece. He was honorably discharged in 1958. Robert had a great career driving semi-truck for Mead Containers. He was like a walking map, if you asked him where someplace was located, he could tell you exactly what roads to take and how long it would take you to get there.
Robert is survived by children Faith Yenter, Shane Yenter and Tracy (Steve) Schmidt, 7 grandchildren; Nichole, Jennifer, Katrina, Anthony, Robert, Alec and Brandon, 8 great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is further survived by siblings Daniel (Linda), Charlotte, Frederick (Karen), and James, brothers-in-law Daniel and Jack, sisters-in-law Rita and Audrey and other relatives and friends.
