Obituary

Peterson Robert H. D.D.S. Dr. Bob SAUKVILLE left to be with his Lord Wednesday July 18 2007 following a long and valiant battle with cancer at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Ruthann (nee Palen) Peterson loving father of Kenneth (Kathleen) of Scottsdale AZ Scott (Kim) of Adell and Jody of Saukville. Further survived by daughter-in-law Jill Peterson nine grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren brother James (Bobbie) Peterson cousins George (Dottie) and Herb (Gail) Roth and many other relatives and dear friends. Bob was preceded in death by his son Robert and grandson Drake. Bob was born August 13 1925 in Louisville KY son of the late Harold and Gertrude Roth Peterson. He graduated from Whitefish Bay High School and as part of the Greatest Generation served with pride in the Pacific Theater with the US Navy during WWII. When he returned home he attended and graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry. Dr. Bob practiced dentistry in Whitefish Bay for 43 years. He was also a faculty member at the Marquette School of Dentistry for 38 years. He also worked as a consultant to Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 22 years and for the Prudential Insurance Company for 5 years. Dr. Peterson served as a professional witness for the Wisconsin Dept. of Justice for 22 years and also worked with many law firms. Dr. Bob was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Fraternity an Honorary Member of Sigma Phi Alpha the dental hygiene Honor Sorority and the Quarter Century Club at Marquette and also was awarded the Service Award from Marquette University. Dr. Peterson was an active member of several boards and committees including Past President of Marquette Dental Alumni Board a Past President of the Greater Milwaukee Dental Association a Past President of the Marquette Alumni Board General Chair of the Greater Milwaukee Exposition the Program Chair for the Wisconsin Dental Association Annual Session a Board Member for the Wisconsin Dental Association and the Northwoods Dental Seminar Group the Ozaukee County Health Initiative Committee Member the Washington County Heath Care Access Committee. He had fellowships in the International College of Dentists the American College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Society. Dr. Bob also served as the health and safety officer at Campo-rees for many years which led the Boy Scouts of America to award him the Silver Beaver Award. Doc was an active member of the Wasaukee Horsemen and St. Simon the Fisherman Episcopal Church in Port Washington. Though his profession was his life the family farm in Saukville was his passion. He loved the land. He was a natural handyman and was the happiest fixing something mending fences and above all driving his tractors. Private family services will be held.
