Robert Patterson, of Grafton, formerly of Pewaukee and South Milwaukee, passed away surrounded by his family on May 4, 2017. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Bob was born on May 22, 1927 in Racine, son of Alexander Patterson and Edith Pawasarat Patterson. He grew up in Racine and Bay View, graduating from Bay View High School in 1945. After graduation, Bob served honorably in the US Army Air Corps and was stationed in the Philippines and Japan. After returning from the service he worked for Consolidated Freightways while attending the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. In December of 1951 he married Shirley Olive Orthmann; she preceded him in death in 2002. Bob married Sandra LeBoutillier in November of 2004.
Bob began his professional career as an elementary school teacher in the Oak Creek/Franklin School District. During his 35+ years as an educator his positions included vice-principal, principal and director of curriculum. He was active in the Grant Park Men's Club and Oak Creek Kiwanis. Bob was an avid golfer, reader and an ace Scrabble player.
He was a former member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in South Milwaukee, Brookfield Lutheran Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton.
Bob is survived by his wife Sandra, his children Robert A. "Zeke" (Rosemarie), Cheryl (Sonya), Seth (Viviana), Ann (Paul) Anderson, Susan (Paul Ehlenbach), Mark and Kim (Sean Maroney). He is further survived by grandchildren Nickolaus Patterson, Martha and Hannah Ehlenbach, Ian and Luke Anderson, Zachary Patterson, Antuan, step-daughter Patricia (Tom) Mayer, other relatives and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 9th at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 701 Washington St., Grafton, WI 53024. Visitation will take place from 10AM until the time of service at 11:00AM in the CHURCH. Private interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Horizon Hospice, Lakefield Adult Day Center Activities Fund in Grafton, or St. Paul Lutheran Church, Grafton.
