Obituary

Robert Alton Noll, aged 88, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024, in his hometown of Port Washington, WI. Born on January 1, 1936, Robert was a respected dairy farmer and a proud veteran of the US Army, where he was stationed in Germany from 1954 until 1956. On March 2, 1957, Robert was united in marriage to Carol Ruffing, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. They spent over 67 years together.

He graduated from Port Washington high school with the class of 1954 and spent his life nurturing the land and animals on his dairy farm. He retired from his family farm in 1995, when he sold the farm to Melichar Broad Acres, where he continued to be active in farming until he was 80 years old. His commitment to agriculture was unparalleled.

Affectionately known as Bob, he was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart Carol A. (Ruffing) Noll and a loving father to Robert (Jackie) Noll, the late Dale (Jeannie) Noll, Vicki (Kevin) Yurske, and Randy (Kristie) Noll. His siblings; Shirley (Eugene) Large, James Noll, and Mary Jane (the late Robert) Bravi. His legacy extends to his 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, who will cherish his memory and continue to feel his influence in their lives. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Bob and his wife Carol cherished their yearly trips to Door County, a testament to his love for simple joys in life and the bonds of family. Bob had interests beyond the farm, he loved watching the Green Bay Packers, NASCAR races, was an avid reader and had a great sense of humor. Bob had an infectious smile. He had an amazing memory and told entertaining stories, especially about the good old days. His New Year's Day birthday parties were celebrations of love and laughter with his adoring family and friends. He will be missed dearly.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Leona (nee Rosewitz) Noll, his son Dale Noll, grandson Andrew Madden, his father and mother-in-law, Len and Evelyn Ruffing along with his sister-in-law Joyce (Len) Hildebrand and his bonus son Jim Melichar.

A service will take place at 5:00 PM on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington, 1600 W. Grand Ave. Deacon Mike Burch will be officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives from 3:00 PM until the time of service at the FUNERAL HOME. He will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery the following day.

His spirit, deeply embedded in the community he loved, will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The Noll family extends their sincere thanks and gratitude for all the care Bob received at Harbor Campus and to Allay Hospice who made his last days as peaceful and pain free as they could. A special thank you to Bob's granddaughter, Maria Florczak for taking such good care of her papa.
