Robert "Bob" Matko, of Fredonia, formerly of Milwaukee and Cedarburg, passed away peacefully at his home on his 83rd birthday, Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Bob was born on July 15, 1943, in Milwaukee to Victor and Audrey (née Breiling) Matko. He was raised in Milwaukee and graduated from Milwaukee Custer High School with the Class of 1961.
On July 20, 1964, Bob married the love of his life, Judith "Judy" Coffey. Together they shared many wonderful years filled with love, hard work, and adventure.
Bob began his career with Mailing & Printing Specialists in Milwaukee, where he worked for 20 years. Determined to build something of his own, he later fulfilled a lifelong dream by starting Bob & Judy Trucking in Fredonia. He proudly operated the family business for 30 years before retiring in 2024.
Bob took great pride in everything he did. He was known for keeping an immaculate lawn, a reflection of his meticulous nature and strong work ethic. He and Judy loved traveling together, creating cherished memories in places such as Hawaii, New York City, Arizona, and Cancun. Bob also had a passion for automobiles and enjoyed collecting special cars over the years, including a 1974 Corvette Stingray, a 1999 Cadillac Eldorado, and matching Mercedes-Benz convertibles for himself and Judy.
Bob's greatest joy was his family. He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Holly (William) Kirmse; his grandchildren, Brett, Matthew (Hannah), Amanda, and Zachary Kirmse; his great-granddaughter, Kya; and his sister Donna Stietz, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy; his daughter, Tammy; and his parents, Victor and Audrey.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Avenue, Port Washington. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Bob will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Judy, at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh.
The Eernisse Funeral Home of Port Washington is honored to serve the Matko family. Online condolences may be shared at www.eernissefuneralhome.com.
