IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert
Leak
September 14, 1975 – April 19, 2025
Robert "Rob" Leak, 49, of Belgium, Wisconsin, passed away at home on April 19, 2025.
Born on September 14, 1975, in Port Washington, Wisconsin, Rob lived a life marked by service, creativity, and curiosity. He graduated from Ozaukee High School in 1993. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1993 to 1997, including time aboard the USS America and the USS George Washington. Following active duty, he continued his commitment in the U.S. Naval Reserve until 1999. On August 30, 2003, he was united in marriage to Sara Stephani at Trinity Church in Beaver Dam.
After his military service, Rob worked as a skilled welder. In recent years, he transitioned into a new chapter of his professional life with a dental insurance administrator, where he worked in Provider Operations.
Rob's interests were as diverse as they were passionate. A devoted plant enthusiast, he had a particular love for orchids and exotic tropicals—always seeking out the rare and unusual varieties that captured his imagination. His thirst for knowledge was insatiable; he was an avid reader who delved deeply into history and explored the intricacies behind anything that sparked his curiosity.
His artistic spirit found expression through many mediums. Rob enjoyed building and painting models and miniatures, leatherworking, woodworking, and crafting macramé plant hangers. Music was another constant presence in his life. Over the years, he also found joy in board games, baking, hunting, fishing, races at Road America, pool, and foosball—and sharing countless dad jokes that brought laughter to those around him.
Rob is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years Sara; their children Evan (Alice) and Myah; his parents Jeffrey and Carla; brother Jamie; parents-in-law Edward and Jane; four siblings-in-law; along with many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, a great-niece and great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Fredrick and Betty Leak and Paul and Beverly Godersky.
The family would like to thank the Ozaukee County Sheriffs department, Belgium EMS
and all the first responders who assisted during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers donations in Robert's name may be made to the Wisconsin Orchid Society or the Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (Mitchell Park Domes).
A graveside service with military honors followed by celebration of life will be held at a later date, yet to be determined.
Rob's legacy lives on through the memories shared by those who knew him best—his humor, his creativity, his dedication to learning and craftsmanship. May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
