Mr. Robert William Henry Klinter, of Port Washington, went home to our Lord in the morning hours of Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa. He was 85 years old.
Robert was born in Milwaukee on June 10, 1936, son of Albert Klinter and Roma (nee Herr) Klinter. He grew up in Milwaukee and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. at the age of 16 with his twin brother, Donald. He served honorably until his discharge.
Robert worked at American Motors in Milwaukee as a supervisor for over 26 years. He was an active member of the Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Post 82 in Port Washington, and an active member of the Port Washington Leathernecks, where he volunteered in the Fish Day tent and other fundraisers. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and had a true passion for drawing and painting.
He is survived by his five children: Stephen Klinter, Virginia (Stephen) Wagner, Veronica (Mark) Rutkowski, Christopher Klinter and Michael Klinter, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law Joanne (the late Donald) Klinter, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Al and Roma, three brothers: Wesley, Gerald, and his twin Donald.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 10th at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg with visitation from 2 – 5 PM with funeral services starting at 5 PM, followed by military honors. He will be laid to rest at Waubeka Union Cemetery in Waubeka.
