ROBERT JOSEPH WILLIAMS Stone Mason July 9 1946 - Oct. 6 2013 Mr. Robert J. Williams of County Road KK in the Town of Port Washington passed away at his home while surrounded by his loving family on Sunday afternoon October 6 2013. He was 67 years old. Robert was born in Detroit MI on July 9 1946 son of Victor and MaryAnn Reid Williams. The family lived in Royal Oak MI and Wil attended local schools before enlisting in the US Navy. He proudly served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Wil moved to Port Washington in the early 1970's and took up the occupation of Stone Mason. He loved building things with his own two hands that would last for a hundred years or more. He enjoyed photography and made wonderful pictures but his passion was laying stone and brick. On December 2 1989 he was united in marriage with Maurie Saffarrans in Port Washington. The couple felt deep accomplishment in their stewardship of the land and could often be seen out walking or taking care of projects on their property. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife Maurie and 3 stepchildren: Malcom S. Robertson of Tucson AZ Margaret E. Robertson of Madison and Marjorie A. Robertson of Irvine CA. He is further survived by 2 grandchildren: Burooj Khan and Nuh Khan both of Madison brother Richard Williams of Royal Oak MI 4 sisters: Suzanne Westerheide of Holland OH Debbie Williams of Morrisville NC Patty Cubbin of Fairport NY and MaryLynn MacLeod of Chatam NJ nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. At his request a memorial service will be held on a warm sunny summer day.
