ROBERT J. SCHANEN nbsp; After a valiant fight with cancer Bob Schanen of the Flying S Ranch in the Town of Grafton passed away at his home Sunday morning April 11 2010.nbsp; He was 50 years old.nbsp; Robert was born in Port Washington son of Francis and Dolores Wegner Schanen on March 9 1960.nbsp; His entire life revolved around the ranch on which he grew up and later raised his own son.nbsp; Bob was united in marriage with Holly Veloon on June 20 1992 at St. Johnrsquo;s Lutheran Church in Port Washington.nbsp; The couple lived for six years in West Bend but returned to live on the family ranch. nbsp;Bob was responsible for the ldquo;farmingrdquo; part of the ranching operation and enjoyed animals both big amp; small as well as working the land and taking care of his flowers. Mr. Schanen liked hunting and fishing however his favorite thing in life was being a dad.nbsp; He was well known by many for his love of teasing and had a special gift with children. He is survived by his wife Holly and their son Josey of the Town of Grafton his father Francis (Mabel) Schanen and sister Shawn (Lance) Johnson both of the Town of Grafton.nbsp; He is further survived by his parents-in-law Melvin and Elnora Veloon of Hartford 5 sisters-in-law: Paulette Veloon of Whispering Pines NC Pamela (Tom) Tarczewski of Greenfield Norine (Roger) Cross of Chapel Hill NC Rae Veloon of Grafton and Heidi (Girish Bhat) Veloon of Madison aunt Anne Wegner of Cedarburg uncle Roy (Doris) Wegner of Grafton nieces nephews other relatives and friends. Bob also leaves many ldquo;barn friendsrdquo; all of whom were important to him in so many ways. nbsp;He is preceded in death by his mother Dolores.nbsp; Funeral Services will be held at 7PM on Thursday April 15th at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington.nbsp; Rev. Luke Emrich will officiate the service.nbsp; The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7PM.nbsp; Memorials are suggested to the Josey Schanen Education Fund or to New Life Church in West Bend. nbsp;br /Service:br /p7:00 PM at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W.
