Bob Dreier of Port Washington passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was 80 years old. Robert and his twin sister Betty were born on May 13, 1939 in Marinette, WI to Elmer and Jean Spoor Dreier. He attended local schools and graduated from Marinette High School, Class of 1957, before serving in the US Army Reserves from 1962 to 1967.
On September 28, 1963, Robert was united in marriage with Joy Greenwood at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Menominee, MI. The couple moved to Milwaukee and later settled in Port Washington to raise their family. Mr. Dreier worked in sales for Moore Oil, US Oil, and most recently Wolf Oil in Slinger; he retired in 2010.
Bob was a faithful member of St. John XXIII Parish - St. Peter of Alcantara Church in Port Washington. He was an integral part of the Food Pantry, was very involved with the Men's Club, served on the Building and Grounds Committee, and was a former Pack Leader of Cub Scout Pack 3875.. Bob and Joy had been loving foster parents for over 35 years and touched the lives of many children.
Survivors include his wife Joy, their children Sandra Dreier of Prescott, WI, Michael (Lynn) Dreier of Port Washington and Daniel (Michelle) Dreier of Mounds View, MN. Bob is further survived by six grandchildren: Joshua Dreier, Caitlin & Nicholas Dreier, Sterling & Kyra Schaefer and Adrielle Dreier, brother William (Joan) Dreier of Seguin, TX, twin sister Betty (the late Robert) Messenger of Peshtigo, brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other family and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and nephew David Dreier.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 7PM on Friday, September 13th, at St. John XXIII – St. Peter of Alcantara Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will preside. Entombment will take place at St. Mary's Mausoleum in Port Washington the following day. The family will receive visitors at CHURCH on Friday, September 13th, from 4-7PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are strongly suggested to The Food Pantry or to St. John XXIII School.
