Dr. Robert Schuknecht formerly of Saukville passed away Monday morning April 20 2015 at Harbor Club in Port Washington. He was 94 years old. Robert was born October 26 1920 in Sturgeon Bay the son of Roy and Bertha (nee Neu) Schuknecht. After graduating from Port Washington High School Robert attended Iowa State where he earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1943. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. On November 13 1954 he was united in marriage with Kathleen Pierron at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. She preceded him in death in 2005. For 50 years Robert ran his own veterinary clinic in Saukville. Robert was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church the Landt-Thiel American Legion Post #470 the Knights of Columbus American Veterinary Medical Association Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association and helped found the Oscar Grady Library in Saukville. He enjoyed following sports photography and wood carving. Robert is survived by his sons: Thomas of Saukville and Mark (Susan) of Pompano Beach FL. He is further survived by 3 grandchildren: Mattison Zachary and Luke sister Elnor Hecimovich of Madison nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Kathleen and his brother William Schuknecht. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6PM on Friday April 24 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 145 W. Church St. in Saukville with Father Thomas Lijewski celebrating. Military Honors will follow Mass. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 4:30-6PM. Robert will be laid to rest beside Kathleen at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Port Washington. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Oscar Grady Library.
