November 11, 1931 – November 3, 2024
Robert P. "Bob" Lorge of Port Washington passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Harbor Club in Port Washington. He was born in Milwaukee on November 11, 1931, the beloved son of Frank and Leona (Schiller) Lorge. On December 29, 1951, he married Carol D. Jones (1933-2017) at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington and together raised five boys.
Bob retired in 1988 after 37+ devoted years from the Port Washington Electric Power Plant as a maintenance machinist. He was a long-time, active member of St. Peter of Alcantara Church. Bob was the former parish council president, secretary, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. Bob had been a charter member of the Port Washington Lions Club and served his community as both an alderman from 1965-1977 and as city Mayor for a short time until stepping down due to his health.
His memory will remain in the hearts of his children Mark, Bruce (special friend Diana Herzog Boesch), Greg (Gina Fabrizio), David (Teri) and Carl (Divina); former daughter-in-law Melanie Spencer; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; sister Carol Lorge Filo; sister-in-law Joan Lorge. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, brothers Jim, Eugene, Jerry and Dick Lorge; sister Mary Jo "sis" Bruecher.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 6:00PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at St. John XXIII Catholic Parish – St. Peter of Alcantara Church site. The family will receive visitors at the church from 4:00pm until the time of service.
Bob will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
The family wishes to thank the caregivers at Harbor Club and the staff of Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care of Bob.
In lieu of lfowers, memorials are suggested to St. John XXIII Catholic School.
