Mr. Robert G. Benson of Port Washington passed away Sunday morning September 20 2015 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton after a short battle with cancer. He was 58 years old. Robert was born August 29 1957 in Buffalo New York the son of Elmer and Patricia (nee Madden) Benson. While visiting his parents in Port Washington he met his future wife Renee. On September 6 1980 he was united in marriage with Renee Kirmse in Mequon. The couple and their young family moved to Wisconsin in 1986. Bob was an avid vinyl record collector and authored a book about it. He was a published author and internet blogger. Bob is survived by his wife Renee and their two sons: Ben (Leah) and Andy Benson both of Port Washington. He is further survived by his grandson Dylan his parents Elmer and Patricia Benson of Cedarburg siblings: Jim (Maria) Benson Steve (Rebecca) Benson Sue (Doug) Lottes Tim (Gynnie) Benson Maryanne (Tom) Seyfert and Pete (Erna) Benson father-in-law Theodore Kirmse brother-in-law Dan Kirmse nieces nephews other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 1PM on Tuesday September 22 2015 at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 noon - 1PM. In lieu of flowers memorials suggested to an educational fund being set up for his grandson Dylan.
