Rita A. Federspiel formerly of Port Washington and Cedarburg passed away early Sunday morning March 23 2014 at Belgium Gardens. She was 82 years old. Rita was born October 20 1931 in Port Washington the daughter of John and Oliva Ackermann Federspiel. She graduated from Mercy High School in Milwaukee and went on to work for Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee for 40 years. Rita was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington where she volunteered with various tasks. She also volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul and enjoyed writing poetry knitting mittens and scarves traveling telling jokes and shopping. Rita is survived by her brothers: George Federspiel and Carl (Loretta) Federspiel both of Port Washington and two sisters-in-law: Hiltrude Federspiel and Mary Federspiel both of Port Washington. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews great-nieces and nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her brothers Norbert Wilfred (Brother Conrad CP) and Joseph Federspiel sister Margaret Federspiel sisters-in-law Marie and Angie Federspiel and her nephew Richard Federspiel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5PM on Tuesday March 25 2014 at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington. Father Thomas Lijewski will officiate. Rita will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery in Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday from 4-5PM.
