Richard G. Moen Mr. Richard G. Moen passed away Friday morning March 1 2013 at Cedar Gardens in Cedarburg where he had resided the last 3 years. He was 89 years old. Richard was born in Stoughton the son of George and Cordelia Moen and grew up in Cambridge. After high school Richard proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines during WWII. On May 20 1950 he was united in marriage with Dorothy Sauer at Grace Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. After earning his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from UW Madison Richard continued to take graduate classes in various engineering fields. For many years he worked as a Mechanical Engineer in different fields including defense and aircraft industries. Later in life Richard and Dorothy began their own management company EA Butler Association. For over 40 years the couple resided in Shorewood. Richard was a member of Bay Shore Lutheran Church as well as the National Ski Patrol the Milwaukee Sailing Club and an Alumni of UW Madison and the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point NY. Richard had enjoyed hunting biking and skiing but was most happy in the water where he sailed canoed kayaked swam snorkeled scuba dove water skied and boated. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday March 6 at Bay Shore Lutheran Church 1200 E. Hampton Ave. in Whitefish Bay. The family will receive visitors at the church on Wednesday from 11-11:30. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Bay Shore Lutheran Church.
