On July 11, 2024, a brave and wonderful man went home to be with his Lord and

Savior Jesus Christ.

Richard Fischer was born on March 28,1947, to Harvey and Mary Fischer in Port Washington, Wis. Richard was raised and attended schools there.

At the age of 19, he joined the Army and served in Germany and Vietnam.

Upon returning home, he joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and, after the apprenticeship program, he became a journeyman lineman. He loved this work. He traveled and worked all over the United States and overseas. Richard served in this profession for over 40 years.

After retirement, he worked on a wheat farm and helped with combining and getting the crops ready for market. Richard loved to hunt and fish and spent many hours teaching his grandchildren the skills he had learned over the years, and they too became skilled hunters. He also taught them to love the Lord.

Richard met his wife Patti in California while working there. They spent 37 years together.

Richard was a man of strong work ethics, high moral values and strong belief in his Lord. He will be missed so much.

His father Harvey, his mother Mary, brother Arthur and sister Doris preceded Richard in death.

Survivors include his wife, Patti; children DeWayne and Andrea; grandchildren Riley Edwards and Taylor (Jarod) Vance of Montana, brother Allen (Annette) of Oregon, nieces Beth (Joe) Clark and Kris (Shawn) Harmon of Wisconsin; and dearest friends Dave and Lois Sturtz of Washington and John and Nancy Liebherr of Wisconsin.

Services will be held at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington on July 30. A gathering and viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Services will be held at 11 a.m.

There will be graveside military honors.

Pastor Evan VanOrder of Montana will officiate.
