Richard "Dick" L. Gruber of Cedarburg passed away to eternal life on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the age of 79. He was born to Leonard and Claire Gruber on August 6, 1944 in Springfield, MA. He married Ardis Crow on November 27, 1981 in Milwaukee.
After graduating high school Dick attended the University of Iowa where he became a lifelong Hawkeye fan. He worked for the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 42 years, which was interrupted by a four-year tour in the U.S. Army where he was a Signal Corps Officer, including one year in Vietnam. His hobbies including woodworking, reading, working on his 1931 Model A Ford, and watching Sports. He was also a great lover of music having played the guitar most of his life.
Dick's memory will remain in the hearts of his wife Ardis, children Stacy (Daniel) DeGregorio, Kristen (Steve) Scheurman, James (Tiffany) Gruber, Michael (Bri) Gruber, Justin (Sandy) Gruber; grandchildren Daniel (Ammory) DeGregorio, Andrew (Joanna) DeGregorio, Peter DeGregorio, Nicholas (Taylor) Klug, Jayson (Amanda) Klug, Riley Gruber, Jake Gruber, Lillian Gruber, Preston Gruber, Levi Gruber, and Luna Gruber and 5 great-grandchildren; siblings Nancy (Roy) Hardin, and Marjorie (Russ) Bees. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Cindy Bernick
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 1:00pm on June 18, 2024 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, North, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg, WI 53012. The family will receive visitors at the church from 11:00am to 12:45pm. Dick will be laid to rest at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Cemetery in Mequon.
