Obituary

Richard "Dick" A. Beyer of Cedarburg passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the age of 89. He was born in Milwaukee, the son of Henry and Lillian (Pipkorn) Beyer on November 2, 1935. Dick married the love of his life Beverly Buechler at St. Cecilia Church in Thiensville on September 14, 1968, and together raised two beautiful children.

Dick was raised in Mequon before ultimately settling in Cedarburg. He graduated from Cedarburg High School in 1953 and was a founding member of the CHS Golden Bulldogs. After high school he proudly served his country in the United States Army as a drill instructor, specializing in Army tanks.

In his earlier career, Dick worked as a mechanic for Gierach's Garage in Mequon until going into business with his brother Robert in downtown Cedarburg as Beyer's Coast to Coast and later Beyer's True Value. They shared ownership with his wife and son, making it a total of 54 years serving the Cedarburg community. Earning numerous accolades including Cedarburg Chamber of Commerce Business of the year.

Dick was a man of strong faith and a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran South Mequon now Christ Alone Lutheran Church in Thiensville. His faith was a pillar of inner strength and guidance giving him peace in the final days.

The couple created many wonderful memories at their cottage on Pelican Lake. There Dick taught many friends and family to waterski, share in the north woods and was always up for a game of cards. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and tried his hand at golfing. Dick was a true family man and appreciated each moment he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and every dog he met.

Dick's memory will be forever cherished by his devoted wife Beverly, his loving children, Henry (Kim) Beyer and Debbi (Scott) Ankrum; adored grandchildren, Hannah, Zach, Abby and Talia (Toby). He is further survived by his brother-in-law Al Schachtschneider, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Robert and sisters Elinor (the late Denis) Umhoefer, Doris Beyer and June Schachtschneider.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00pm on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg, WI 53012. Pastor Kurt Ebert will preside. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home in a time of visitation from 2:00-5:00pm.
