Richard Laue of Port Washington passed away in the morning hours of Wednesday February 5 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after an extended and well-fought battle with cancer. He was 74 years old. Rick was born in Sheboygan on February 22 1939 son of Karl Laue and Elsie Jurk Laue. He attended school in Sheboygan graduating from North High School in 1957. From 1957 to 1959 he proudly served his country in the US Navy. His tour of duty included a Mediterranean deployment on the USS Saratoga. On December 17 1960 he married Onalee Teumer in Sheboygan. Rick was a salesman holding positions with area companies. He is a former member of the Sheboygan Elks Club #299. Rick loved walking the beach picking up beach glass and driftwood on his walks. He also enjoyed reading just about anything he could get his hands on. Gardening was another one of his passions. He was honored when his garden was selected to be included in the Port Washington Garden Walk. Rick was a believer in the United States flag and what the flag stood for and how it should properly be displayed. Rick is survived by his wife Onnie of Port Washington his son R. Curtiss Laue of Port Washington and his daughter Constance (Terry) Collins of Raleigh NC. He is further survived by two granddaughters Spencer and Samantha Collins one sister Donna (Robert) Hill of Portage MI his sisters-in-law LaDonna (Donald) Mullans of Wales UK and Jean Laue of Pittsburgh PA nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by parents his brother Charles Laue and his in-laws Elmer and Mary Teumer. In accordance with Rick's wishes private family services will be held. the Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is honored to serve the family.
