Regina Daly, of the Town of Grafton, formerly of Whitefish Bay, went to her heavenly home in the early morning hours of Thursday, March 19, 2020 at her residence. She was 70 years old.
Regina was born in Philadelphia, PA, on August 2 1949, daughter of William J. Cotter Sr. and Regina M. Wasil Cotter. She attended Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Flourtown, Pennsylvania (class of '67). On October 2, 1976, she married Paul M. Daly at the Church of the Gesu, Milwaukee. Regina attended Marquette University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked as a public health nurse for the City of Milwaukee for many years. Later, she was a psychiatric nurse and manager at St. Mary's Hill Hospital, and at Milwaukee Psychiatric Hospital. She then became a researcher and manager at the Medical College of Wisconsin, for the Women's Health Initiative and other research programs. Before retiring, Regina worked part-time as a school nurse for Milwaukee Public Schools.
She was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg, and a former member of Holy Family Parish in Whitefish Bay, where she was active with the children's liturgy. She enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, beading, birdwatching and being surprised by the ending of "Law & Order" episodes she had previously seen countless times. She very much disliked the acting of Timothy Busfield and Nicolas Cage, and though she was a fan of the Beatles, Paul McCartney's "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time" was perhaps the bane of her existence.
Regina is survived by her husband Paul of Grafton, 5 sons: Paul Daly of Milwaukee, Patrick Daly of Grafton, Joseph (Abbie) Daly of Mukwonago, Michael (Roxanne) Daly of Hartford, and John Daly of Greenfield. She is further survived by six grandchildren: Cora, Ivy, Finnegan, Nolan, Cillian and Rose, three siblings: Nancy (Lawrence) Iacono of Sea Isle City, NJ,
William (Patricia) Cotter Jr. of St. Paul, MN, and Nora (Francis) Smith of Sea Isle City, NJ, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Mary Fitzgerald.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 10:30 AM at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg. Luncheon will follow Mass in the church hall. Burial will take place later that day at 2 PM at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7301 W. Nash Ave. Milwaukee.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
