Obituary

Raymond Sinnen, of Cedar Grove, passed away surrounded by his loving family in the morning hours of Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Cedar Grove Gardens where he had been a resident. He was 93 years old. Ray was born on the family homestead in the Town of Holland on August 14, 1922, son of Raymond Sinnen and Mary Pierron Sinnen. On May 29, 1946 he married Vernita Schmitz at St. Nicholas Church in Dacada. The couple farmed on the century old family farm for many years before moving to Cedar Grove. Ray also worked for all three generations of the Feider family at Feider Trucking hauling cattle. He then managed the apartment buildings where he lived until the age of 92. Ray was a lifelong and very active member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish (St. Nicholas) in Dacada. He served as a Parish Trustee, and was also an usher and lector. In his younger years, Ray was active in youth sports coaching both CYO softball and basketball. He is survived by his three children: Robert (Mary) Sinnen of Grafton, Mary Rae Beardsley of Tucson, AZ and Roger (Tammy) Sinnen of Random Lake. He is further survived by his daughter-in-law Betty Sinnen of Fond du Lac, 16 grandchildren: Jim Williams, Jessica Sinnen, Nicole Sinnen, Allison (TJ) Zimmerman, Becky Tuma, Mike (Elizabeth) Sinnen, Brenda (Joel) Pence, Megan (Gary) Dhaliwal, Danielle (Bryan) Molnar, Christopher (Allison) Beardsley, Matt and Zach Beardsley, Brooke (fiancé Joe Bednarek) Sinnen, Taylor (Ryan) Dumez, Mackenzie and Delaney Sinnen, 12 great-grandchildren, his sister June Gionet of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Vernita, son Richard, his sister Jean Depies and his great-granddaughter McKenna Tuma. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 27th at 6 PM at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel in Dacada. Father Richard Cerpich will preside over Mass. Burial will take place in St. Nicholas Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the CHURCH Wednesday, January 27th from 3-6 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Our Lady of the Lakes Parish or the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN). The Sinnen family wishes to thank the staff of Cedar Grove Gardens for their exceptional and loving care that they provided over the last ten months to Ray.
