Obituary

RAYMOND J. STENGEL Mr. Ray Stengel a resident of Saukville passed away Friday morning October 11 2013 at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. He was 91 years old. Raymond was born in Milwaukee on January 22 1922 son of John and Mary Krygier Stengel. When Ray was five his family moved to the Town of Belgium and ran the tavern in Lake Church. He attended local schools and later worked with the Civilian Conservation Corp. His work with the CCC led him to a lifelong love of traveling. Mr. Stengel worked at Tecumseh Company / Power Products in Grafton retiring in 1985. Ray was a former member of the IAMAW Local 1326. Ray's nieces and nephews remember Ray as a laid back man who was a great storyteller. He enjoyed traveling to places like Manitowoc or Escanaba MI just to kill time. Mr. Stengel is survived by 4 nieces: Karen Krell of Cedar Grove Sharon (Jim) Howard of Milwaukee Barbara (Dick) Zbkowski of Port Washington and Patricia Patsy Abfalder of Butler as well as 3 nephews: Jim (Kitty) Shape of Lake Mary FL Otto (Sharon) Stengel Jr of Cupertino CA and Nick Krell of Howards Grove. Further survivors include great-nieces great-nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Krell and brothers Otto and Casey Stengel. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30PM on Thursday October 17th at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. ( Hwy LL Park St.) in Belgium. Ray's longtime friend Father Jim Ernster will officiate the service. Mr. Stengel will be laid to rest in St. Mary Cemetery Lake Church beside his parents. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:30-2:30 PM. Online condolences can be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com .
