RAYMOND R. ANTON Mr. Ray Anton of Maple Street in Port Washington passed away at Lawlis Hospice Center in Mequon early August 30 2015 at the age of 97. Raymond was born in Milwaukee on January 29 1918 son of Paul W. Anton Sr. and Selma Wiese Anton. He attended local schools graduated from Milwaukee Boy's Technical High School before joining the Army Air Corps. He served in the 8th Army Air Force and was stationed in England. Upon his return to the United States he returned to Milwaukee and worked with his father building houses. On September 2 1949 Ray was united in marriage with Grace Alexander. The couple settled in Glendale and started their family later moving to Mequon. Ray started Hillside Auto in Port Washington in 1959 later retiring in 1986 after selling the business. Ray and Grace bought a house in Arkansas that they spent time re-building around their daily golf game. They moved back to Wisconsin full time 2005. Mr. Anton loved boating and spent many enjoyable days with his family at their summer home in Sturgeon Bay. He loved socializing especially on the golf course and was very proud of the hole-in-one he achieved at Quit Qui Oc Golf Club in Elkhart Lake. Ray is survived by his loving wife of close to 66 years Grace of Port Washington and their son Kim (Sharon) Anton of Fredonia. He is further survived by two granddaughters Lisa (Tony) Nguyen of Oshkosh and Michelle Anton of Hales Corners. Ray is preceded in death by his brother Paul W. Anton Jr. and sister Esther A. McCarthy Karbon. Funeral Services will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday September 3rd at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington followed by Military Honors. Pastor Don Drollinger will preside. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-6:30PM.
