Obituary

RAY H. MEYER Ray Meyer age 82 years of 431 S. Main St. Saukville died Sunday March 21 2004 at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital Ozaukee Campus in Mequon where he had been a patient. He was born on November 14 1921 in the Town of Port Washington son of Leo and Catherine Stern Meyer. On September 11 1948 he married Viola Schuh at Immaculate Conception Church in Saukville. He retired in 1984 from the Port Washington Power Plant as a control operator after 37 years. Ray was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville where he was very active in parish activities. He was a dedicated member of St. Henry Court #902 Catholic Order of Foresters and a member of the Catholic Knights Saukville Senior Citizens and the Saukville area Historical Society. He served on the Saukville Village Board as a Trustee for nine years on the Saukville Village Planning Commission for fifteen years and on the Ozaukee County Board of Supervisors.for four years. Survivors include his wife Viola three daughters Jan (Jim) Thompson of Tempe AZ Marilyn (Tom) Carroll of Wauwatosa and Barbara (Lee) Daavettila of Green Bay and four grandchildren Sarah Maureen Ian and Nathan. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday evening March 24 8 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville with Father Karl Acker and Father James Kimla officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation at the Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington Wednesday from 4-7:30 PM.
