Obituary

Randy Kasten of Port Washington passed away at his residence on September 10, 2026. He was 75 years old.

Randolph was born in Port Washington on August 23, 1951, the son of Werner and Eleanore (nee Musfeldt) Kasten. The family lived on a farm on Pioneer Road and Randy attended the one room schoolhouse down the road from their home. He graduated from Cedarburg High School, Class of 1970, and later earned an Associate’s degree from MATC.

Randy was united in marriage with Kathleen Ninneman, and together the were blessed with three sons. Their paths later diverged.

Mr. Kasten served as a caretaker at Schlitz Audubon Nature Center in Bayside for 27 years. He lived on the property and raised his sons on the grounds. He ran his own landscaping business, Kasten Yard Maintenance, and also worked as a custodian at Marquette University for over 20 years. Randy had been an EMT and Firefighter with Bayside Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time outside hunting and fishing in his spare time.

He is survived by three son: Troy (fiancée Kindra Johnson), James (Brent), and Timothy Kasten, as well as one grandson William Kasten. He is furthered survived by sister Diane (the late Larry) Werth, sister-in-law Susan Kasten, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Bruce Kasten, and former wife Kathleen Kasten.

Per his wishes he will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Prairie Rest Cemetery in Milwaukee.
