Ralph Edward Kaan, 84, of Fredonia, WI, passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, WI, on Sunday evening, April 30, 2023.

Ralph was born on December 24, 1938, in Chicago to Josephine and Edward Kaan. Sadly, his mother, Josephine, passed away some months after Ralph's birth and his father re-married to Dorothy Smith, who loved Ralph as her own and adopted him as her son. Ralph grew up in Chicago with his sisters and attended local schools, graduating from Lane Technical High School.

Ralph worked in his family's machine shop, Kaan's Engineering, for many years as a machinist. In 1962, he married Delores Knapik and they were blessed with two children. He later moved to Indiana. In 2017 Ralph moved to Wisconsin to be closer to his family.

Ralph enjoyed many happy years living the country life, watching his grandchildren growing up and was blessed with having three beautiful great-grandchildren. Over the years, Ralph liked music, dancing, and antique cars – particularly his Studebaker and Ford Model A – and had a special fondness for his three Mercury Cougars.

Ralph is survived by daughter Deborah (Wade) Parker, son David (Joanne) Kaan, three grandchildren: Meghan (Josh)  Maxwell, Cortney Kaan, & Carly (fiancé DeWayne McFadden) Kaan, and three great grandchildren: Dean & Carl Maxwell and Theodore McFadden. Ralph is also survived by his former wife, Delores Dennison, sisters: Marian (Harold) Finnern and Ruth (Daniel) Pauls; nephews Douglas and Steven Finnern, great nephews Craig, Brad & Derek, and great niece, Stephanie. He is further survived by cousins, other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at All Saints Polish Cathedral Parish and Cemetery, 9201 W Higgins Rd, Chicago, IL 60631, He will be buried in the parish cemetery beside his family following the service.
