Obituary

Robert J. Doyle (R.J.) R. J. Doyle of Port Washington formerly of Dubuque Iowa passed away on Monday morning March 31 2008 at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital in Milwaukee WI. Robert was born in Mason City IA on May 31 1944 son of Jerome and Marie Mishak Doyle. He was united in marriage with Eleanor Ploessl at Holy Assumption Catholic Church in West Allis WI on May 27 1969. R.J. was a jewelry designer and owned R.J. Doyle Jeweler in Fox Point WI semi-retiring in 1996. The couple had recently moved to Port Washington. A born charmer R. J. loved people. His customers were not customers they were his friends. He designed his jewelry to fit his friend's unique personalities. He had a bit of the Irish way about him. His sense of humor was well known among family and friends. Everyone who knew him was subject to his sophisticated gotch ya. R. J. was a true gentleman and a gentle man. He was ill for a very long time enduring many surgeries and medical procedures without a complaint always joking with his nurses and medical staff. He became very close friends with his St. Luke's transplant family especially Dr. Ajjampur R. Vidyaranya and Nancy Contreras RN who made R.J. feel special and loved. Everyone who knew R.J. loved him. He was kind and generous to a fault. He would go out of his way to help a stranger as much as he would to help a family member - all he had to do was see a need and he would charge ahead to make things all better. R.J. is survived by his loving wife Ellie of Port Washington WI 7 sisters-in-law; Cecelia Doyle of New Hampton IA Margaret Doyle of Northridge CA Janice Waechtler of Modesto CA Lois Ploessl of Dubuque IA Amy Kuhl of Port Washington WI Dianne Ploessl and Monica (John) Wolbers both of Dubuque IA. He is further survived by 3 brothers-in-law; Randy (Rebecca) Ploessl Dennis (Maria) Ploessl and Noel Ploessl all of Dubuque IA nieces nephews other relatives many friends and numerous colleagues. R.J. was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Donald and Mike. Funeral services for R.J. will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque IA. Since R.J. received such pleasure from reading in lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be sent to Friends of the Lakeview Community Library Inc. PO Box 326 Random Lake WI 53075-0326.
