Obituary

Philip Kendall Olson, age 92 of Belgium, Wisconsin passed away suddenly on February 14th surrounded by his family. Philip was born Feb. 9th, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was the son of Edward and H. Manuelite (Kelley) Olson. Philip graduated from Washington High School in the winter of 1947. He attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1953. Following college, Philip served in the army before becoming a teacher in the Menomonee Falls School District. He married Judith Berget on Dec. 19th, 1965 and they eventually settled in Belgium, WI. Together they had 4 active children. During this time, he continued his education earning a master's degree in School Psychology. This led to a job in northern Wisconsin, working for CESA 8 as a school psychologist in multiple schools across the district. Philip, Judith and family lived in Laona, Wisconsin for 20 years before moving back to Lake Michigan in Belgium. Philip grew up playing baseball, and loved the great outdoors, especially skiing and hiking in the Rocky Mountains. He was very curious, enjoyed reading and was a life-long learner. He also loved camping and traveling to National Parks across the United States, Canada, as well as Europe. He was an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Port Washington. He is survived by his wife Judith, and children Cheryl Olson (Hugo Wendling), Eric (Susan) Olson, Kristofer (Nancy) Olson, Laura (Lennart) Moche and grandchildren Aiden, Riley, Charles, Noah, Caleb, Peter, Axel and Johan, as well as close cousin Susan Janscha and family. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward and H. Manuelite Olson. Funeral Services will be held at 4 PM on Wed. Feb. 19th at Christ the King Lutheran Church at 420 W Whitefish Rd, Port Washington, WI 53074. Visitation will precede the funeral from 2 – 4 PM at the church. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Christ the King Lutheran Church or an organization of your choice.
