PETER D. KELLER Mr. Peter Keller of Douglas Street in Port Washington passed away at his home while surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday March 17 2015. He was 88 years old. Peter was born on October 8 1926 in Devils Lake North Dakota one of ten children born to Walter and Margaret Tuchscherer Keller. Following his schooling Peter served proudly in the US Marine Corps during WWII. He later was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base and on a chance trip to Wisconsin met Ruth Kroll. The two were united in marriage at St. Mary's in Port Washington on November 29 1952. Peter and Ruth settled in Port and started their family. Peter was a driver for Stodyk Truck Lines retiring in 1983 after 31 years on the job. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Van Ells-Schanen American Legion Post 82 and was a founding member of the Leathernecks Club at the Legion. Peter enjoyed fishing and most early mornings could be found at his usual spot on the lighthouse pier. He also enjoyed golf shooting pool bowling and taking immaculate care of his lawn. Most of all Peter loved his wife and family. He is survived by his wife Ruth and their ten children: Jim (Pamela) Keller of Saukville Sandra (Don) Cash of Troy TN Dennis Keller of West Bend Dan (Kelley) Keller of Port Washington Jeffery (April) Keller of Saukville Linda Turenne of Fredonia Cathy (Donald) Large of Port Washington Ronald (Kelly) Keller of Port Washington Gerald (Mary) Keller also of Port Washington and Carol (Dennis) Reilly of Shorewood. He is further survived by 22 grandchildren 15 great-grandchildren (with 3 soon-to-arrive) 3 brothers: his twin brother Roy (Liz) Keller of Belgium John (Nancy) Keller of Tampa FL and Mike (Lorraine) Keller of Portland OR nieces nephews other relatives and friends. Peter is preceded in death by brothers Tony and Walter and sisters Catherine Christina Margaret and Bernadine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6PM on Tuesday March 24th at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington. Father Pat Wendt will preside. Military Honors will be rendered after Mass. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Tuesday from 4-6PM. The Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
