Obituary

Mr. Paul Schwister of Saukville passed away Tuesday morning, November 20, 2018, at Cedarburg Health Service while surrounded by his family. He was 71 years old. Paul was born in Milwaukee on April 5, 1947, son of LaVern "Mac" and Dorothy Kessenich Schwister. He attended Mother of Good Counsel School and graduated from Francis Jordan High School, Class of 1966. Paul enlisted in the US Navy and served two years active duty before serving 24 years with the US Navy Reserves. On October 7, 1972 Paul was united in marriage with Barbara Goldammer at the Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Milwaukee. The couple moved to Saukville in 1974 and raised their family. Mr. Schwister was employed as an assembler at various plants in the area, retiring from Scot Pump in Cedarburg in 2013. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church (presently St. John XXIII Parish) in Saukville, as well as a member of the Landt-Theil American Legion Post 470, where he participated in the Honor Guard. Paul and his wife bred rabbits, and showed Havana and Holland Lop rabbits at rabbit shows all over the state, winning many awards. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and fixing small engines. Mr. Schwister also enjoyed cooking, especially making brunch for his family. Survivors include his wife Barbara, and their sons Timothy of Port Washington, Anthony (Jamie) of Oshkosh, Thomas (Pamela) of Cedarburg and Lawrence (Sarah), also of Oshkosh. He is further survived by eight grandsons: Henry, Michael, Liam, Parker, Calvin, Maxwell, Harvey, and Silas, sisters Carolyn "Carrie" (the late Bill) Derse of Door County and Barbara (Thomas) Olivas of Mukwonago, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and son Jerome. A Memorial Service will be held at 4PM on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. Deacon Mike Burich will preside the service. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4PM.
