Patricia Ann Jancoski was peacefully carried home in the loving arms of her Savior during the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 28, 2020. She was 85 years old.
Patricia was born in Milwaukee on October 16, 1934, daughter of Rudolph Kuehne and Marie Hacka Kuehne. Pat was grateful for the generous gifts her parents offered her, especially the gift of a Catholic education. Graduating from St. Mary's Academy in 1952, she studied French and Literature at Marquette University, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1956. In later years, she continued her studies in Education at both Alverno and Cardinal Stritch colleges.
On July 25, 1959, Patricia wed Thomas Jancoski at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Milwaukee. They were married 60 years. Pat recounted her favorite time of day was "when Tom came home." Tom devotedly cared for her during these recent challenging years of diminishment and decline.
Pat's vocation was as wife and mother. Through years of laughter and none too few tears, she lived out her love for her family, physically, materially, and spiritually, by encouraging, cajoling, and praying unceasingly.
Pat tended to be a private person, preferring intimate gatherings with family and friends. She was an active, attentive and compassionate listener. She loved classical music and the ballet. She enjoyed going to movies and traveling with her husband Tom, reading current events, mysteries, and devotionals. She was a passionate advocate for the rights of the unborn.
Pat is survived by her husband Tom of Grafton, her two children Michele (Paul) Thur of Grafton and Mark Jancoski of Port Washington. She is further survived by her grandson Matthew (fiancée Valerie Locklair) Thur, her cousin Joan (the late Tom) Karczewski, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Michael.
Pat's family would like to express their gratitude for the cheerful loving attentiveness shown Pat by the caregivers at Luther Manor River Oaks in Mequon. The family is deeply grateful for the tender loving care provided by Preceptor Home Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 6, 2:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Grafton. Father Michael Barrett will preside over the Mass. A time of gathering will precede the Mass at the CHURCH on Thursday from noon until 2 PM.
The Eernisse Funeral Home, Cedarburg, is honored to serve the family. Online condolences may be left at www.eernissefuneralhome.com
